On Sunday 7 February, in ideal conditions, more than 1500 participants enjoyed running/walking around the scenic Albert Park Lake in the 25th annual Brazilian Butterfly Queen of the Lake.

Women of all ages and abilities (and even a few men!) embraced this morning of fitness and fun, starting with Lisa Westlake’s energetic and exuberant aerobics warm-up. After the 5 or 10km run/walk, many participants indulged in Sole Sister’s traditional Thai foot massage or relaxed in the sun as they eagerly awaited the post-event celebrations.

Tassal’s Tasmanian salmon cooking presentation was a hit with Dina incorporating both her broad knowledge of salmon health benefits and easy to follow recipes. Similarly, 2XU’s High Performance Runway Show was electric and enthralling, the models captivating the crowd in their stylish, innovative and technical pieces.

The morning came to an end with the exclusive VIP area reaching capacity as participants rewarded themselves with salmon appetizers, breakfast and champagne.

Congratulations to everyone who took part in the event. Congratulations also to Kylie Higgins and Amy Morgan who won the 10km mother-daughter challenge and Betty Kagarakis and Denise Grima who won the 5km mother-daughter challenge! We hope you enjoy your Brazilian Butterfly prize packs valued at more than $500!
